WHAT YOU SHOULD DO…

We at Rural Canterbury PHO know how important it is to have access to medical care outside your General Practice’s normal hours of work.

In the Ashburton area phone 0800 700 155

For ALL other locations phone your General Practice number outside their normal hours.

A qualified Triage Nurse will answer your call. The nurse will advise to one of these options:

• Provide an answer to your health question
• Provide on-going monitoring
• Refer you to the 24 Hour Surgery
• Advise you to go to the Emergency Department
• Recommend a visit to your General Practice the next day
• Arrange for you to be seen in your home by a St John Paramedic
• Arrange transport to the 24 Hour Surgery or emergency department if required

So when you are unwell outside your General Practice’s normal hours of work remember – help is only a phone call away.
