Ashburton Health Promotion Coordination

 

To implement health promotion activities in the Ashburton District, especially amongst the Maori and Pacific communities. Promoting awareness of diabetes is one of the priorities, as is promoting the Physical Activity Strategy of the Ashburton District Council.

Key Components:

Contracted to Presbyterian Support Services to

  • support meat workers and their families new to the district
  • provide guidance, resources, assistance for physical activity and healthy eating approaches for children
  • identify other areas in which SIA or HP money could be beneficial
  • To work with significant partners to meet the needs of new Maori and Pacific People entering the District
