Nursing Scholarships

Fully funded places available for Registered Nurses working in rural Canterbury

Postgraduate Nursing Certificates, Diplomas and Clinical Masters

CDHB is delighted with the sector’s response to the Clinical Training Agency (CTA) funding for RNs undertaking postgraduate nursing courses in 2008. Around fifty RNs from primary care were funded to study this year.

CTA funding covers course fees, subsidised release time for employers*, and travel to distant courses.

* release time to attend study days is reimbursed to employers at a rate of $28 per hour.

Specific funding is targeted for Practice Nurses and rural RNs. We are keen to fully utilise the available funding for Canterbury nurses. Applications close each year in November for study in the following year. Forms are available at http//www.cdhb.govt.nz/communications/forms.htm#a then go to letter C.
